ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — New Mexico Lobos fans are a different breed, hardy enough in nature to be extras in “The Revenant.”
They have to be, especially considering the fortunes of the school’s two prominent programs – men’s basketball and football.
They have supported basketball at an elite level even though the program itself has not achieved at an elite level.
They, on occasion, muster enthusiasm for football as they did for the 2015 Gildan New Mexico Bowl.
Their sentiments soar and crash-land after every result.
