No. 24 Lobo baseball team falls 33-8 — yes, 33-8

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Saturday was a day to forget for the University of New Mexico baseball team. The Lobos’ No. 24 national ranking will surely take a big hit — something that visiting Dallas Baptist did early and often Santa Ana Star Field.

Hit, that is — destroying UNM 33-8.

Dallas Baptist (7-3), which whipped UNM 7-2 on Friday, scored in all nine innings on Saturday.

Some of the Patriots’ individual numbers were eye-popping: Luke Stratman was 5-of-7 with two homers, a double, eight RBIs and four runs; pitcher Darick Hall (2-0) went 5-of-5 with two homers, a double and six RBIs and David Martinelli was 4-of-8 with a homer, a double five RBIs and four runs.
