ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico softball team put together a better performance against San Diego State Saturday but fell 2-1. The Lobos are now 22-24 on the season and 7-12 in the Mountain West. The Aztecs are now 27-20 overall and 10-10 in the conference.
"I think we should have won that game," said head coach Erica Beach. "We were one clutch hit away from winning that game but I am really proud of their toughness and how they recovered from yesterday."
The Lobos got on the board early in the first inning after holding San Diego State scoreless.
