When Arizona State quarterback Mike Bercovici dropped back and flung the ball into the ground from his end zone on Sept. 18 in Tempe, Ariz., many Lobo fans were livid when an intentional grounding penalty and a safety weren’t called.
While any Lobo fans who thinks that play changed the outcome of the game, it’s likely that more than a few would also be lying if they said the ensuing 93-yard touchdown pass to Demario Richard that put the Sun Devils up by 21 points on the next play didn’t actually have a bit of a silver, albeit no cherry, lining.
