ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- The University of New Mexico men's basketball team is partnering with the Albuquerque Police Department for a special VIN etching event on Saturday, Sept. 22, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Northeast parking lot of Dreamstyle Arena - The Pit. The event is free and aims to reduce occurrences of vehicle theft in Albuquerque.
Community members and fans are encouraged to come and take part in the FREE event to have their vehicles etched. The etching of VIN numbers helps deter vehicle theft and also provides a higher rate of recovery for vehicles that are stolen.
