COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- Senior Anthony Mathis of The University of New Mexico men's basketball team was named Mountain West Player of the Week on Monday following an impressive showing in the Lobos' 27-point victory over No. 5/6 Nevada on Saturday night.
The honor marks the first of his career after he put up a career-high 27 points and tied his career-best six rebounds against the Wolf Pack inside The Pit.
Mathis averaged 22.0 points per game on the week going 12-for-31 (.387) from the field including 8-for-23 (.348) from behind the arc.
