ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Even though they'll play 24 of their 28 matches on the road, the Lobos might want to play at home more often.
The University of New Mexico beach volleyball team tore through its competition this weekend as it posted a perfect record in its only home tournament of the season. The Lobos beat Colorado Mesa 5-0, Arizona State 4-1 and in-state rival New Mexico State 5-0 on Saturday.
New Mexico shined bright under fantastic weather Friday and Saturday at Lucky 66 Bowl, riding an enthusiastic crowd and tremendous team play to its first undefeated weekend of play in the program's history.
