ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- After posting a 4-6 record in a tough non-conference schedule, The University of New Mexico Lobos (4-6) are set to open conference play on Thursday night on the road at Fresno State (7-4) at 8 p.m. (MT).
Both teams are kicking off Mountain West play in Thursday's matchup. Last season, the Lobos opened league play at Nevada, earning a 51-47 win. The victory snapped a six-season loss streak in Mountain West openers. UNM and Fresno State are no strangers to opening league competition together, in 2014-15, the Lobos opened with a 71-65 loss to the Bulldogs on the road.
