Lobos, Nevada poised for another meeting

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — The Nevada Wolf Pack waited 66 days between regular-season games with the University of New Mexico.

The layoff didn’t exactly change the results, as UNM (17-14) led by as many as 18 in the Dec. 30 matchup before winning by 12, and led by as many as 20 points on Saturday in Reno before closing out the Pack by five.

For crack No. 3 at the Lobos, Nevada (18-12) had to wait just five days and feels rather confident about not letting being swept in the regular season put a dent in their confidence heading into today’s Mountain West Conference tournament quarterfinal game at the Thomas & Mack Center.
