Tipping Off
The University of New Mexico women's basketball team is off and running in the 2019-20 season as they are preparing to take on Northern Arizona on Friday night inside Dreamstyle Arena - The Pit. The Lobos opened their season this past Tuesday against UC Riverside and had to overcome a slow start offensively to secure the win.
After trailing at the end of the first quarter 17-8, the Lobos went on to out-score the Highlanders 72-53 the rest of the way out en route to an 80-70 win.
Returning guard Ahlise Hurst was one of the main reasons the Lobos were able to get going offensively as she found her shooting stroke early and often burying her first five three-point attempts of the game.
