Lobos hoops season-ticket sales approach 6-year low

Buying tickets early isn’t what the state is known for.

But barring a miracle, not even the expected late push will save UNM men’s basketball season ticket sales from being at their lowest point in six years since the Pit was under renovation during the 2009-10 season.

“You’d always want to be sold out, but we’re not there, yet,” said Brad Hutchins, UNM’s Senior Associate Athletic Director for Marketing and Revenue. “We’ve got two weeks to go (sales end at the Nov. 13 regular-season opener) and we’re going to continue to push sales.

“Sales are a bit behind compared to last year, but that’s not uncommon given last year (the team finished with a 15-16 overall record in Craig Neal’s second season as head coach).
