Apollo Wright is the New Mexico Lobos’ third special teams coordinator in three years.
If that suggests a lack of continuity in a vitally important phase of the game, Wright says, you can forget the suggestion.
What Coleman Hutzler started and Derek Warehime continued, he said, he’s not about to scrap.
“Everybody has their own way of doing certain things,” Wright said. “But why would I go ahead and just wash everything that we’ve worked so hard as a group, as a team, as a unit for?”
Wright, who is also UNM’s running backs coach, came to Albuquerque in 2013.
