ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The No. 11 Purdue Boilermakers showed the UNM Lobos just what a luxury it is to have what is arguably the best duo of centers in the country in Isaac Haas and A.J. Hammons on Saturday in West Lafayette, Ind.
But the Lobos weren’t run out of Mackey Arena because of a pretty potent positional duo of their own.
Through one month of the season, including Saturday’s game at Purdue, sophomore Lobo guards Elijah Brown and Cullen Neal have made a compelling case to be considered the best backcourt duo in the Mountain West, a league with five or six teams that could be regarded for that distinction.
