ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The list of honors keep growing for Chris DeVito. Now he can add Major League Draft Pick to the list as the World Champion Kansas City Royals selected DeVito as a first baseman in the eighth round of the MLB Draft. Overall DeVito was the third player from the Mountain West selected, and he was the 253rd selection.
Earlier in the week DeVito was named District VIII Player of the Year by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association of America. He along with his teammate Alex Estrella were named Third Team CoSIDA Academic All-America last Friday, capping off a seven-span filled with honors.
