USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – The University of New Mexico women's basketball team snapped a season-long four-game losing skid on Saturday afternoon as they cruised past the Air Force Academy by a score of 75-53. In getting back to their winning ways, the Lobos also picked up their first win in Mountain West play.
While the final result ended up being a 22-point victory for the Lobos (10-8, 1-4 MW), the game was neck-and-neck through the first quarter. In that opening period the score was tied six times while the lead changed hands twice.
The largest lead for either team during that time was a five-point advantage by the Falcons (4-12, 2-3 MW) at the 2:53 mark.
