HONOLULU, Hawaii – The University of New Mexico men's basketball team (7-4) dropped the opening game of the 2015 Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic against the Auburn Tigers (6-3), 83-78, Tuesday inside the Stan Sheriff Center.
Elijah Brown led the Lobos with 33 points, a personal best and a season-high for any player. It's the most points a Lobo has scored since Kendall Williams dropped 46 points on Feb. 23, 2013. Brown shot 10-for-17 from the floor, 6-for-9 from 3-point range and 7-for-9 from the free throw line. He also had seven rebounds and a steal.
