ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— The No. 62 ranked University of New Mexico men's tennis squad put up a hard fight to No. 52 Denver, but fell 5-2 in their last home match of the season.
In singles play, Escutia and Jauregui dropped matches at the number three and five positions respectively to give the Pioneers a 3-0 lead.
Van Leijsen was first to put a point on the board for the Lobos when he defeated Rocha at the number two spot 6-3, 6-3 in two straight sets. Hernandez-Tong followed and won 6-4, 6-2 at the number four position.
