It’s accurate to say the COVID-19 pandemic has added an air of mystery to the University of New Mexico’s 2021 volleyball season.
The Lobos, who are still piecing together their own rotation, tip off the season Friday with a pair of matches at Cal State Fullerton’s Titan Classic. UNM will take on Fordham (1 p.m.),, CSU Fullerton (7 p.m.) and conclude its visit with a Saturday match against UC Riverside (2 p.m.).
Familiar foes they are not.
New Mexico has never previously faced Fordham, but the Lobos go into the weekend knowing more about the Rams than they do about either of the California teams.
