CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The inability to finish offensively was the New Mexico men’s soccer team’s season-long weakness. Shortly, we’ll find out of the Lobos’ season is finished also.
UNM fell 1-0 to No. 17 South Carolina in its Conference USA tournament quarterfinal Wednesday. The loss dropped the Lobos to 8-6-4, and now it must wait on the mercy of a selection committee to see if its season will continue in the NCAA Tournament.
“We’re in a funny situation because our RPI is still pretty high (No. 38),” coach Jeremy Fishbein said, “but I don’t know if we get into the tournament.
