ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The UNM Lobos allowed just 60.2 points per game a season ago and through two games this season they’re allowing 65.5 points per game.
But, considering scoring has gone up more than five points per game nationwide in the opening week of the season, according to the statistical analysis website KenPom.com, the Lobos aren’t exactly hitting the panic button about their defense.
In fact, head coach Craig Neal is actually quite pleased with how his team has performed on that side of the ball, especially with teams’ general ability to force opponents into taking low-percentage shots.
