ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Rice's Egor Koulechov hit a technical free throw with 0.1 seconds left to beat New Mexico 90-89, capping the Owls' comeback from a 16-point, second-half deficit Saturday night.
With the game tied at 89-89, New Mexico's Tim Williams called a timeout with none remaining after a scramble for the ball under the basket, resulting in a technical foul.
Koulechov finished with a career-high 32 points and Marcus Evans added 21 for the Owls (5-6).
New Mexico (7-3) got 21 points from Elijah Brown and Williams added 18, including 14 in the second half.
