ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Face to face with UNM golfer Ingrid Gutierrez
The daughter of Humberto Gutierrez and Astrid Nunez, Ingrid has won two MWC player of the week honors. She had a 5-over 77 during Monday’s first round of the MWC Championships in Rancho Mirage, Calif., but is only 6 off the lead and tied for 20th. She was a Collegiate Golf All-American Scholar as a freshman. Hobbies include playing piano, singing and yoga.
What is golf like at home? It’s not like here at all. Here, you can play in high school. Back home, you have to choose a high school really well.
