Hit me! Lobos pound UNLV

Hits were easy to come by Saturday at Santa Ana Star Field as the UNM and UNLV baseball teams combined for 22.

New Mexico got the big hits.

Despite being outhit 12-10, the Lobos (19-8, 9-2) rolled to a 10-5 victory and will look for a three-game sweep of the Mountain West series today. Coach Ray Birmingham’s team won for the 11th time in 13 games and is a game ahead of second-place Fresno State in the conference standings.

Chris DeVito and Jack Zoellner cranked up the extra-base power for UNM on Saturday with two home runs, three doubles and seven RBIs between them.
