BAYAMON, Puerto Rico – Former University of New Mexico men's soccer student-athlete Michael Kafari has joined Puerto Rico FC of the NASL, starting in his first match over the weekend.
Kafari made his debut with his new squad Saturday in the team's 1-0 victory over Rayo OKC at home. Kafari logged the full 90 minutes in the win, recording two tackles and one clearance. Highlights of the match can be seen below:
"This is a great opportunity for Michael," said Lobo head coach Jeremy Fishbein. "He went there on a trial, was signed, had a slight injury but quickly recovered and started, playing 90 minutes, in a good win for the club.
