Though the regular season opener is still more than two weeks away, with the UNM Lobos men’s basketball exhibition opener tipping off in less than a week, head coach Craig Neal says it’s time his players start shifting their focus.
His more specific message as the preseason shifts from general season preparation to more defined game preparation is simple: Know your role.
“I think our hardest part right now is role definition,” Neal said Tuesday prior to the team’s 19th of 30 allowed preseason practices before the season starts. “It’s not an equal opportunity offense. I think we’re sorting that through.
