Football: Lobos rout South Dakota after slow start

For the first time since 1996-1997, the Lobos have won back-to-back season openers following a 48-21 blowout at Branch Field.

Austin Apodaca threw for two touchdowns, going 12 of 16 collecting 172 yards, but per usual it was the running attack that stole the show. Teriyon Gipson led that charge carrying the ball eight times for 181 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

This is a developing story. Check back with the Daily Lobo for more.
