As college basketball seasons come to a close over the next few weeks around the country and players make decisions about their futures, the annual outcry of the “transfer epidemic” will insert itself into the conversation. The sport has witnessed more than 700 players among the NCAA’s 351 Division I programs leave their schools for wide variety of reasons.
Fans, coaches and many media bemoan the practice – never mind the turnover of players is basically the same as that of the DI head and assistant coaches they are playing for.
But each transfer has a reason.
