UNM coach Bob Davie often reminds us there is not as much difference between QBs Lamar Jordan and Austin Apodaca as we regular folk think.
As if to prove his point, he gave Apodaca the start at San Jose State on Saturday night and the Lobos relied on their usual triple option.
Apodaca seemed OK when keeping the ball, but it was a bit of an adventure when he was pitching it.
Still, you can’t help but wonder what the craftier Jordan would have done against a team that struggles in defending the option. Perhaps he would have turned some of those short runs that Apodaca managed into touchdowns.
