ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The New Mexico Lobo women thought they had gotten back on track in an impressive midweek home win.

Saturday’s performance, a 66-48 loss at Wyoming, suggests they have not.

The misfiring Lobos shot 28 percent from the field, but that doesn’t tell the entire story of their dysfunction offensively. Khadijah Shumpert, UNM’s most effective scoring weapon this point in the season (14.4 ppg through Saturday), scored a team-high 13 points — on 4-of-5 shooting from the field and hitting all five of her free throws.

Cherise Beynon added 12 points for UNM, but took 26 shots to get there, making five.
