ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of New Mexico baseball team was picked as co-favorites in the Mountain West by the conference's coaches. The Lobos received three first-place votes and 32 points overall to tie atop the standings with San Diego State. Junior outfielder Danny Collier, sophomore third baseman Carl Stajduhar and junior first baseman Jack Zoellner were named to the preseason All-Mountain West Team.
This is the fourth straight season the Lobos have been picked as at least co-favorites in the conference.
"It shows you the quality of our program and where we're going," UNM head coach Ray Birmingham said.
