Ben Dunbar has moved up the ranks of the UNM tennis team all the way up to head coach, the University of New Mexico announced on Monday afternoon.
Following Bart Scott’s departure from the team, the Lobos chose to remain with one of their own after Vice President for Athletics Paul Krebs announced that Dunbar, the former player and assistant coach, will lead the men’s tennis team.
"I'm incredibly honored and humbled at the opportunity to lead the UNM Men’s Tennis program. I want to thank Paul Krebs and Ed Manzanares, the search committee of Alan Dils and Ciara Martinez and the University of New Mexico for giving me the opportunity to lead a program with such a great history,” Dunbar said in a release.
