GREENWOOD, IND. --- Junior Cherise Beynon of The University of New Mexico women's basketball team has been named College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 7 First Team for her outstanding performance both on the court and in the classroom, CoSIDA announced Thursday.
As a standout on the court for UNM, Beynon boasts a 4.07 grade point average in business administration/entrepreneurship. The honor marks Beynon's first Academic All-District honor and just the fifth in program history. With her selection as an All-District First Team honoree, Beynon will now be entered into the running for CoSIDA Academic All-American status.
