When two teams are locked up in a first place showdown mid-season, it is normally a time for big-time players to shine.
This week, two players for New Mexico received all-conference honors for their performance highlighted by UNM’s sweep over Fresno State.
Junior DH/catcher Chris DeVito has made the Mountain West Player of the Week for the second time this season, the last coming on Feb. 29. It is southpaw junior Carson Schneider’s first time reaching the mark in the 2016 campaign.
“This is a well-deserved honor,” head coach Ray Birmingham said in a UNM release.
