ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Tonight’s game at Santa Ana Star Field has been a long time coming for Michael Eaton.
An Albuquerque native and senior second baseman for the University of New Mexico baseball team, Eaton will play his first home game at the facility tonight when the Lobos (3-1) host Wichita State (2-2) in the opener of a three-game series.
It’s an odd circumstance considering Eaton played high school baseball at Sandia Prep and is in his fourth season of college ball. But Eaton spent three seasons and a redshirt year at the University of San Francisco before coming to UNM as a graduate transfer.
