The Devils will likely pick 17th overall in the first round of the 2018 NHL Draft in June, though there is a chance for the team to move up to the 16th overall pick.
In order to do so, the Colorado Avalanche would need to reach the Western Conference finals. The Avalanche currently trail the Nashville Predators, the NHL Presidents' Trophy winners, 3-2 in their first-round playoff series, with Game 6 coming in Denver on Sunday.
Assuming the Avalanche are eliminated prior to reaching the Western Conference finals, the Devils' first-round pick and all subsequent picks will be in the 17th spot of their respective rounds.
