BUFFALO — He might be at the front of the line with the No. 1-overall pick at the NHL draft on June 21, but rest assured Devils general manager Ray Shero knows the Rangers are not just another team picking at No. 2.
“With us, the thing with New York and New Jersey is that we need rivalries,” Shero told the league’s website on the eve of prospects meeting with the media at the NHL Scouting Combine on Friday. “Our brand is to be relevant, and that’s what we want to do. The fact is, the Rangers are picking second, they’re just across the Hudson River, and what the heck’s wrong with that?
