Heading into camp, we projected the Devils would use their 23-player roster to carry 13 forwards and eight defensemen, like they did early in the 2017-18 season. For this projection, we're adjusting to reflect a roster that features 14 forwards and seven defensemen.
We will start with the 14 forwards, followed by the seven defensemen, then the two goalies, listed alphabetically at each position. Other players in the mix are listed after the projected lineup.
Anderson drew some praise from coach John Hynes following his second preseason game, and the forward has risen to the challenge in different areas of the game.
