The New Jersey Devils probably want to retain Taylor Hall if they can. He is the first player in team history to win the Hart Trophy as league MVP. That is an amazing feat, especially since this team has had some amazing players come through and win championships. Hall’s contract is up on July 1st, so if he isn’t extended by the trade deadline, the Devils will likely be forced to move him for the best possible package. The Devils don’t want to lose a player of his caliber for absolutely nothing. It would set the franchise back a few years if that happened.
