New Jersey Devils: Nico Hischier undergoes surgery

On Tuesday, the New Jersey Devils announced that captain Nico Hischier had undergone surgery and would be out for another three weeks.

Late in New Jersey’s game on Feb. 27th against the Washington Capitals, Hischier took a deflected puck, shot by teammate P.K. Subban, to the visor and immediately exited the game. He hasn’t played since and was considered week-to-week.

During that span, it was revealed that Hischier had gone into concussion protocol and had fractured his nose. The surgery he underwent, which occurred on Monday afternoon, successfully repaired his frontal sinus fracture.
