The New Jersey Devils began December the same way they ended November: an emotional loss at home against a division opponent. The Devils fell 5-3 to the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Prudential Center in what was supposed to be a special occasion for Brenden Dillon's 1000th game. It was anything but special, and the Devils are losing what little cushion they thought they had, and it's not getting any easier.

The New Jersey Devils were flying high after defeating the Buffalo Sabres last week and were at the top of the Metropolitan Division.
