NEWARK -- Through about 1.5 games together, the Devils' line of left wing Taylor Hall, center Nico Hischier and right wing Drew Stafford has something going.
The trio created some of the Devils' most dangerous chances during the team's 5-4 shootout win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday, where they combined for two goals, three assists and 10 shots.
Hischier's two close-range shots were both stopped, including a second-period attempt where Lightning goalie Peter Budaj reached up and tipped away a high shot with his glove. Hischier spoke on Monday about expecting the points goals to come, and he drew closer on Tuesday.
