Rasmus Ristolainen scored the game-winning goal with 2:23 left in overtime to lift the Buffalo Sabres to a 4-3 win over the Devils on Friday at the Prudential Center in Newark.
The game went to overtime after the Sabres erased a two-goal deficit over the final 21 minutes of regulation.
The Sabres tied the game at 3-3 early in the third period when forward Jack Eichel scored his second of the game off a one-timer from the left circle on the power play at 11:04.
Taylor Hall appeared to give the Devils a 4-3 lead moments later, when he finished a beautiful move at the right post.
