TAMPA -- Now even Cory Schneider's own teammates are scoring on him.
Attempting to clear a dangerous scramble in the right circle, defenseman Sami Vatanen whacked a puck right past the Devils goalie in the second period of Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
That goal ultimately went to Lightning forward Brayden Point for his second goal of the night, and it effectively summed up how most of a 5-2 loss went for the Devils at Amalie Arena.
Schneider lost his fifth straight start to begin his season. While he was able to avoid the disastrous two-goal, 30-second stretch that doomed his last start, the goalie and the Devils couldn't slow down the Lightning.
