Devils can't capitalize on rookie goals in 3-2 loss to Jets | Rapid reaction

Despite two third-period goals from two rookies, the Devils couldn't overcome a second-period deficit.

Strikes from Miles Wood and Nick Lappin weren't enough for the Devils when they fell to the Winnipeg Jets, 3-2, on Tuesday night at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg.

The goals by Wood -- the first of his career -- and Lappin each pulled the Devils within one goal in the third period, but the Devils never overcame the two-goal deficit they faced twice.

Following a scoreless first period, the Jets potted a pair of goals in the second period to create a lead the Devils never overcame.
