Cammalleri named NHL's Third Star

Mike Cammalleri has been named the NHL's Third Star for the week ending Dec. 6, the National Hockey League announced today. Anaheim goaltender John Gibson and Nashville defenseman Shea Weber were named First and Second Star, respectively.

Cammalleri led the NHL with seven points (4g-3a) in four games, including three straight multi-point performances, to help the Devils (14-10-3, 31 points) move into the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.

After failing to register a point in a 2-1 loss to Colorado on Tuesday, Cammalleri reeled off three straight multi-point games: 2g-1a in a 5-1 victory at Carolina on Thursday, 1g-1a in a 4-3 overtime loss to Philadelphia on Friday and 1g-1a in a 4-2 win over Florida yesterday.
