First things first. The dream scenarios that would make the New Jersey Devils a better team would be something along the lines of: Alexis Lafreniere falls to seven, Edmonton trades Connor McDavid while retaining 50% of his salary for the negotiating rights for Kevin Rooney, and the Devils sign Alex Pietrangelo and Torey Krug for a total of $2 million. Obviously, those are impossible dreams, so let’s get a little more realistic. There is a difference between fever dreams and a dream scenario.
