Who’s to blame for the Revolution’s downfall?

From MLS Cup runner-up to 10th place in the Eastern Conference—that’s how far the Revs have fallen over the past three seasons.

The club tried, and failed, to stay afloat with a makeshift back line last season. This year, the Revs added defensive reinforcements but have struggled to find consistency on both ends of the field. Even breakout campaigns from Antonio Delamea and Diego Fagundez have done little to help the Revs move above the red line.

This inconsistency—in scoring goals and preventing them—has led to five wins in 19 outings. The Revs currently sit eight points back in the playoff race and, without an immediate turnaround, will miss the playoffs for the second time in as many seasons.
