FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution Academy midfielder Trevor Buns (Southborough, Mass. – 2001) has been named the 2020 UnitedHealthcare Revolution Academy Player of the Year for the 2019-20 season. Burns becomes the sixth different recipient of the honor, joining Revolution Academy alumni Zachary Herivaux (2014), Justin Rennicks (2015, 2016), Joe Brito (2017), Kevin Vang (2018), and Tyler Freitas (2019).

Burns has spent seven years in the Revolution Academy program, having joined the club ahead of the 2013-14 season at the age of 12 – the longest-tenured Academy player in the 12-year history of the program. Over the last two seasons, he was selected as a team captain for the Under-19 side, playing in every match and scoring seven goals.
