The New England Revolution face the New York Cosmos (NASL) in the Fifth Round of the US Open Cup on Wednesday. Here are three things you should know before the 7:30 PM kickoff.
1. The Cosmos are one of two lower division teams still in the tournament. There are 16 teams left in the 2016 rendition of the Open Cup and only the Cosmos and Ft. Lauderdale Strikers represent division two soccer. This, of course, brings an extra source of motivation, as underdogs are always looking for upsets. That said, the Cosmos are a different type of underdog because they're ambitious enough to believe that their club is one of the best in North America.
