If the Revs have any designs on salvaging their season, they’re going to need to start grabbing points in bunches, especially after dropping two in their 1-1 Saturday draw with Portland. Their first chance is tonight in the Bronx. To earn three points, they’ll need to defeat an NYCFC club which hasn’t lost in Yankee Stadium all year and has outscored opponents 30-7. Yes, that’s not a typo. The Blues have a +23 goal differential at home.
However, NYCFC has only been able to draw the last two visitors, and they haven’t won at home since July. Couple that with a struggling new coach, a plethora of injuries, and several international call-ups, and you have a fighting chance for a result in the Bronx if you’re in good form yourself and can play well on the road.
